Melbourne to Adelaide – 3 Days / 2 Nights


Day 1 – Melbourne to Port Campbell

Your private journey begins with collection from your Melbourne accommodation before travelling southwest towards Torquay and the beginning of the spectacular Great Ocean Road. Follow the coastline through Bells Beach and the seaside town of Lorne, stopping at Teddy's Lookout for sweeping views of the coast. Continue through Kennett River, where there is an opportunity to spot wild koalas, before travelling through Apollo Bay and into the lush Great Otway National Park. A short walk at Maits Rest provides an introduction to the region's ancient rainforest before continuing west along the coast. The afternoon is devoted to the dramatic Shipwreck Coast, including Gibson Steps, the Twelve Apostles and Loch Ard Gorge, before arriving at Port Campbell in the afternoon. Overnight: Port Campbell.

Day 2 – Port Campbell to Penola

After breakfast, continue west along the spectacular Shipwreck Coast, visiting the Grotto, Bay of Martyrs and Bay of Islands before reaching Warrnambool. From here, the journey continues towards the rugged coastline of Cape Bridgewater, where you can explore the dramatic blowholes and Petrified Forest before continuing to Nelson, situated at the mouth of the Glenelg River on the South Australian border. Crossing into South Australia, continue to Mount Gambier to experience its fascinating volcanic landscapes, including Blue Lake, Umpherston Sinkhole and Cave Gardens. The day concludes with the short journey to the historic township of Penola, where you can relax and enjoy the town's boutique accommodation and dining. Overnight: Penola.

Day 3 – Penola to Adelaide

Today offers a choice between a natural wonders and caves experience or a Coonawarra wine experience. The natural attractions option includes a visit to Naracoorte Caves National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site renowned for its spectacular limestone caves and extraordinary fossil discoveries. After exploring the caves, continue to Meningie for lunch before travelling through the remarkable landscapes of Coorong National Park, with its lagoons, wetlands, sand dunes and abundant birdlife. Continue to Murray Bridge for a brief visit to the Murray River before travelling into the Adelaide Hills and stopping at Mount Lofty Summit for panoramic views across Adelaide and the surrounding region. Alternatively, guests can spend the morning exploring Coonawarra, enjoying premium wine tastings and a leisurely gourmet lunch before rejoining the route towards Meningie, the Coorong, Murray Bridge and Mount Lofty. The tour concludes with arrival at your Adelaide accommodation in the afternoon.
